A few reminders

What is the March prompt?

There is no *set* March prompt this year. This challenge is fully up to you :) You can choose whichever book you want for each month, as long as it fits one of the ~90 prompts we’ve listed and is written by a racialized author.

What does “racialized” mean?

We included a definition of this:

Where are the prompts listed?

For “diaspora,” who counts under these prompts? For the prompts about ethnicity, who counts?

We’ve gotten a few variations of this question, and we wanted to clarify.

For the purpose of this challenge, anyone who is “of descent” counts towards the prompts. For example, if Brittany wrote a book, you could include her in the prompts for:

  • East Asian author (She is of Chinese descent)

  • Southeast Asian author (She is of Filipinx descent)

  • Asian Diaspora author (She is of Chinese and Filipinx descent, but lives outside of the Asian continent)
